Implementing Well-Water Gardens

We began our first well-water garden on our living Water Farm in November last year. We showed this practice to our care-givers, and some other trainees including a few other local villagers.

We first walked with our local farmers to find a suitable spot to start a demonstration field. Here , we call it well-water garden, a 6*6 meter demonstration gardens. It is good enough to show how we implement Farming God’s way techniques on a small scale. Once they know some basic principles, and some foundations of the farming, they shall be able to implement it on a larger scale farm.

PREPARATION – STAGE

We took this opportunity to share with them about being a good stewardship. God provides all we need around us. We might ignore his blessings. Though, the soil doesn’t look in great conditions for crops, we can still implement Farming God’s way to restore it. Yet, we have to be faithful in the small thing we do.

We asked our care-givers to water the plot for a few days because the plot seemed to be very hard. We helped them to understand that preparing fields should be done before the raining reason so that farmers can save their time and be well-prepared.

One of the principles in Farming God’s way is doing on time. We help farmers understand that when we do things on time, we reduce the cost of our work, and the wastage of the blessing from Heaven, rain-water.

Normally, farmers have about 2 months to be prepared. In Africa, farmers prepare their fields in August and September because their rainy season falls in November.

PLANTING SEEDS- STAGE

GERMINATION- STAGE

Even though, the growth of the corns still struggle healthily, we learned that this is our first trial to implement on the poor – condition of soil. As we encouraged our team members, we wanted them to understand that the more we keep doing at the same holes, or stations at the high standards, the yield will increase, and the next crops will be healthier.
