As far as I remember, I was around 7 or 8 years old. Me and other children in the village were hunting for frogs, crabs, and fish in the rice paddies.
For some reason, we ended up near a raised ground where big trees were standing—naturally beautiful—with cool, fresh air and shade in the middle. It was so inviting that you just wanted to be there and relax.
I saw a group of adult men standing there, looking for something. They called us over and asked if we could give them a hand. We approached them. The task they gave us was to help clear a spot on this raised ground. We didn’t know what they were planning to do. Later, they went out and came back with some chickens. They slaughtered them and hung them on sticks as a sacrifice on one of the big trees
We continued helping them build a small hut. This hut was meant to hold some idols. Not long after, we saw them begin to call for ancestral spirits and local spirits to come and dwell on this raised ground. They were building a place for the spirits. As a young boy, I didn’t know much—I just thought we were helping build something useful for the villagers.
Later, this raised ground became a place where villagers came to worship and offer animal blood and other offerings as part of their rituals. They believed that by doing this, the spirits would protect them and bless their village.
It has now been over 20 years. I have seen and learned that many people in the village suffer—poverty, sickness, and brokenness. The rice paddies dry up. Their livestock get sick. Their daily work becomes harder.
After becoming a Christian, I began praying for this village. It is my parents’ birthplace, and I want to see freedom, salvation, and restoration come to the villagers.
Yesterday, I brought a group of senior church members to visit this raised ground. I told them what this place is and the story behind it. Then, we prayed over the land. We asked God to release His power and break every chain and stronghold over this place. We walked around and prayed over the ground.
This raised ground is not far from our Living Water Farm. We believe that God has a great plan for this village. He will restore, heal, and bless it. I also asked the team to pray for me, because I was one of the people who helped start this place.
We believe that the spirits that once dwelled here are now removed—and that salvation, freedom, and restoration are coming to this village. Please continue to pray for us.
